Offensive to the Ears !
When I listen to RJ's in FM Channels 'RJ-ing' in Kannada, I don't know whether I should laugh or cry.
With the 'pressure' to attract the local population by speaking in Kannada - they end up talking VERY artificially. On top of this, most of their Kannada one-liners are DIRECT translations from English, and that's why they sound absurd.
For example, " .....Keep Listening to Radio BIG ! " becomes " ..Kaelthaayri Radio BIG ! "
" ..You are listening to Radio Mirchi ! " becomes "..Neev Kaelthaaydira Radio Mirchi ! "
Uughh.. That is just not how we use Kannada in our day-to-day speaking ! You don't put the 'verb' before the 'subject' in these sentences.
Well, Can't they use something better ? Any bright ideas ?
